Every Turkish citizen who does not fall into one of the situations listed in Article 16 of the Regulation on Firearms and Knives and Other Tools entitled “Situations that Prevent the Issuance of a Weapons License” and who has reached the age of twenty-one may purchase weapons for the purpose of possession.
Those who want to obtain a gun license for the purpose of possession apply to the Provincial Governor’s Office where they reside with a petition. After the completion of the necessary documents, those who do not have any obstacles are granted a License to keep them in their homes or workplaces, provided that they pay the necessary fees and taxes.
TO WHOM IS THE TRANSPORT LICENSE ISSUED?
The license to carry weapons is given to the following persons:
People whose life is in external danger,
Persons belonging to certain professions, such as members of the press, contractors, owners of fuel stations,
Some public officials, such as lawyers, notaries,
Those who have the authority to make savings belonging to the duty of the police,
Employees working in protection, maintenance and repair works in state, municipal, private administration and state-owned enterprises,
For those who have a relationship with money, (For example; jeweler, moneylender, etc.)
Those who are engaged in special tasks,
Some public servants who have retired,
It can obtain a transport license in the cases specified in the law.
